A LITTLE BIT MORE
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Ps. 8:3-4)
I have come to the conclusion that loving God has everything to do with knowing the love of God a little bit more continually. I am not really that much of a star gazer, but this verse reached and touched me today! I tried to imagine the work of God’s finger placing the stars in His great work of art.
Are you aware of how great God’s love is for you? Are you aware that His love never changes. When it comes to you, He sees how special you are? Have you allowed God to make you feel how special you are?
We are never going to love Him like we are intended to, without knowing how we are loved. I pray that God will help me to convey this in every way from every direction until you feel it permeating all that you are. Not all that you think you are, but all that God knows that you are.
As I prayed at the piano today, I began to sing, “Just a little bit more of your love, just a little bit more of your love, just a little bit more of your love, working in me.”
Unless you have never heard about Jesus or the Bible, you have heard about how God works all things together for the good of those who love Him. That is a very hard truth to swallow if we are not aware of how much God loves us. It is the last thing we want to hear when things are terrible.
It is difficult to abide in Him when we do not understand His great love. It is difficult to cast our cares on Him, unless we understand how much He cares for us. When we come to roadblocks in our lives, it is a perfect place to absorb just a little bit more of His love.
Never allow yourself to think, even for a moment, that God’s love for you is letting up in any way. The truth is, He is always working to try and get us to understand His great love.
Think about when He asked Israel, His people, what more could I have done for you. We can look at others and think it is easy for them to praise the Lord because they have everything so good. Could it be that the truth is they have experienced everything so bad that they cannot do anything but love and trust God?
When Paul was Saul, he did not know anything about the love of God. He knew rules and he hated rule breakers, because he always kept the rules. Jesus helped him shift from rules to love. The more he knew the love of God, the more he loved.
As for me, I need a little bit more of God’s love working in me, so I can love a little bit better! I pray that you will experience a little bit more of God’s love for you today and forever.
