A THANKFUL HEART

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth. (Psalm 100:1 NLT)

I get joy just thinking about the Lord. I can’t stop praising the Lord. I will never stop praising the Lord. These are little tunes that go through my head and restore my soul at times. You know those times when you are doing anything but being grateful?

Yes, I think we have times when our gratitude takes on attitude, and it is not a great attitude. We may be thankful to God, but it is not showing. Yes, if we have done it unto one of the least of these, we have done it unto the Lord! Holy Spirit, please keep me in perfect love.

This week I have been continually consumed with thankfulness. I am reminded repeatedly just how fortunate I am to know the Lord. Situations and circumstances all bounce me to a desire to thank and glorify God.

Last week as we learned that we are a message to the world, the Lord urged me to encourage people that they had received an impartation from God and to be on the lookout for the manifestation.

Later in the day, I said hello to a couple of young men in a store as I was picking up some stuff. I went out to put my things in the car and I had a divine phone call from my wife to go back and check for something else. I say it was divine, because it brought me past those same two young men. One of them spoke to me as I walked by and asked what the deal was with me. “Why are you so happy?”

I put my arm around his shoulder and told him it was Jesus. He responded, “I knew you were going to say that.” His friend asked him how he knew that. He explained that God had been working on him for a couple weeks and that very morning he had asked the Lord to give him a sign; so right there in the parking lot we prayed as he gave in to the Lord. I was so thankful for the goodness of God. He is good.

Even when things seem to crush us, we can be sure that God has not and never will desert us. We can be grateful for that. Just thinking of Him makes me thankful.

Lord, you supply my every need. You fill every gap. You are my complete satisfaction place. Lord, you displace needs, aggravations, frustrations, and confusion. Only you can do the things you do. You make things good and complete.

I want to encourage you to make God your happy place and go to Him continually. Every day, the Bible app tells me to leave prayer time when I am ready. Every day, my response is the same; “I am never ready to be done.” There is no way to be done. We can never be done. We may leave that moment, but we cannot stop our communication with God. When David found himself away from the Lord, He asked the Lord to restore the joy of his salvation. I pray you have experienced that joy. If not, today is the day to do it. If you have, give God thanks continually.
