A VERY SPECIAL MAN

Jesus from Nazareth was a very special man. God clearly showed this to you. He proved it by the miracles, wonders, and miraculous signs He did through Jesus. You all saw these things, so you know this is true. (Acts 2:22 ERV)

If we lose sight of the fact that Jesus was first a very special man, it is difficult to believe everything that God has planned for us. Jesus was a man sent by God to save the world. He was a man full of the Holy Spirit and power. He was a man who was the first fruits; an example of how God intended normal Christians to operate in His Kingdom on earth.

Reading words like these will often set off alarms! The natural or religious side of us begins adjust and excuse in order to make the words acceptable or dismiss them all together and the Spirit of God within says, “yes oh yes.”

When Peter spoke to the people he reminded them that they had seen enough so that they would have to agree if they were honest with themselves. He was a man before He was made savior by His resurrection from the dead. Now He is Lord. He was always Lord because He was declared Lord by our Father, but first He was a very special man!

If we can accept the truth without completely understanding it, we can then become all that God has planned for us. You see, just as Jesus was Lord in God’s eyes while He was a very special man to all who followed Him, so are we priests and kings, seated in Heavenly places with Christ Jesus. God sees what we cannot comprehend!

Too often we are offended by the Word of God when we should be simply agreeing with it. If we are willing to change our hearts, He is able to change our lives. If we by faith will simply create an atmosphere of respect for the Lord, we open a gate for Him to impress us with His greatness. The key then, is to leave the gate open.

When Jesus came and did miracles among the people they were impressed at first, but then shut the gate because they could not accept Him as man and Messiah. They could not see where God was headed. We all have situations where we cannot see where God is headed and if we are not careful we too shut the gate on His perfect plan.

Can you believe that God sees you as far more than you can imagine? Can you believe that He has plans to move you from glory to glory? Can you believe that He saw you as an impressive child of God long before you ever knew Him and that He is ready to complete that vision whenever you are?

There was much more to the impressive man Jesus that any of them knew, and that is why Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come to reveal the whole truth. The Holy Spirit is ready to impress you. Are you ready to be impressed?
