ABOVE AND BEYOND

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 NKJ)

Glory be to God! Glory in all the earth. Glory above the earth. Glory in the church and out of the church. Glory be to God!

There is really nothing more fulfilling than giving glory to God. In fact, we really could just end this here and if we did it, we would do well. So if you want to stop reading and just go about praising, that will be fine.

There was a moment this week when I gained a whole different perspective on this verse that I want to run past you.

You see my main thinking about God doing the above and beyond has usually been used to propel me into bigger and better and longer and stronger, etc. But, we have all run into things that are above our wildest imaginations that we never once considered. Still, God is able to not only do, but to see us through.

God can!  You see, I normally used this verse in imagining good things. I did see it from a see me through pep talk perspective. I had others for that! There is nothing impossible for God, but when we run into the things that look like it, this is my go to, blast through verse from now on!

It is the perfect verse for springing out of the traps that the devil lays for us. I am not one to spend any time imagining the worst; at least not since Jesus came into my life. That is probably why I have always looked for the next great thing God will do.

When faced with challenges I would go to declaring that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and there is no weapon formed against me that can prosper. I am sure you have your list and I am also certain that many are way ahead of me on this, but I never, that I can remember battled with above and beyond on my banner! Well this week changed it.

As I considered the many different things I have encountered since I met Jesus, I realized that there were a bunch of beyond what I have imagined circumstances where God did beyond what I could have hoped or imagined to see me through. That is why we can do all things through Christ; He has had a solution prepared all along. That is why we need not fear when terror comes near. He has abundantly planned for our victory.

He does not plan for us to face things we cannot handle. Those things come! He simply has abundant resources for victory that are above what we could hope or imagine. We simply need to depend and trust Him before, during, and after. Rejoice and give God glory.
