ALL WE NEED TO KNOW
The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes, He will tell us all things.” (John 4:25 NKJ)
The first thought I had as I read this report of Jesus and the woman was that she had been seeking. She was trapped in a life that was a cycle of disappointments. She was really hungry and did not know for sure what for until this meeting with Jesus.
When we are without God, we are trapped. We are like people locked in a basement hoping to be rescued but not knowing just how to call out or who to call out to.
This woman’s life was a wreck. She had obviously contemplated the Messiah and more than likely wondered if it would do anyone like her any good! Other people are trapped on the opposite end of things and think they have everything so they do not need Jesus. Funny that they can think that when in fact all they have is not satisfying them.
In the night, I heard in my spirit the words, no more. Jesus told this woman that she was talking to the one who would tell them all things. Have you ever thought that Jesus is the Lord of no more?
He was first of all, the Lord of no more wondering. He was no longer coming; He was and is present. When we know this, we know all things. All things are possible. All things are new. The rescuer has come. We are free in Christ Jesus.
We know that one day there will be no more loss or sorrow or crying or sickness or pain or anything that we fear. We know this, but we really cannot actually grasp it all here. We can however, practice for it.
Everything may not go away. We experience plenty of all of those in a lifetime. We do not have to experience them alone. He is here to comfort and strengthen us; whether a miraculous change takes place or not, He is here. That is one great miracle. The greatest in fact!
We can be free from having to know why or how or when or what. We can rest in His promise that He is with us always. We may still wonder but we have the answer to wondering. We are not trapped in the basement of despair. We can receive the rescue of prayer. We can find our way out of doubt. We can believe like the woman did when He told her He was right there in front of her.
Yes the no more times will all happen at once in heaven, but let’s not forget that Jesus in the Lord of the no more always. Keep seeking. Keep trusting. Keep calling. Keep standing. We need to know and to show that He is here. That is all we really need to know.
