AMAZED 2

People around the world are amazed at the wonderful things you do. You make all people, east and west, sing with joy. (Psalm 65:8 ERV)

People were amazed on the original Pentecost because they heard the good news in their own language. Every day, all around the world, there people being amazed as they hear the good news in their own language. Am I learning the language that people will understand? Are we speaking into people’s lives? Do we expect to see things happen as a result of the power of the Holy Spirit?

His signs are intended to open the eyes of those who do not understand. To be honest, He often does things we do not understand but by going ahead and doing what He directs, we can and do in fact behold the glory of God.

The followers of Jesus had no idea what they were waiting for, and did not by any means understand what had just happened; but something had happened! Suddenly they understood things that they did not grasp before. They also were willing to do and say things they had not done or said before. They became comfortable with the unknown because of Who they knew.

The real question is not so much, “Have we received the Holy Spirit;” it is more, “Have we yielded to Him”? The truth is, not everyone who receives; believes. Many people have been strongly touched by the Spirit of God and managed to shake it off like a boxer shakes of a punch.

Changes take place when we receive the Holy Spirit. What we do with those changes are entirely up to us. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of our living God. Not fearful from the stand point of terror, but rather from the fact that there is a lot of unknown in the Kingdom of God.

The whole world, east and west, needs to respond and be amazed by the wonderful things God does. Those who know must reveal Him in a language others will understand. We must be willing to walk in the power of God and do the signs and wonders as the witnesses Jesus said we would be.

Scripture commands us to desire spiritual gifts. If kindness is the thing that will work then receive power for kindness. If healing; then walk in healing power. Whatever is required, be prepared to receive and give it freely. It does not require a thousand or ten thousand people for the power to flow. It requires one who will believe that God hears and does what is right. We can convey the message that God is trustworthy where ever we are in all that we do.

People all over the world are worried about the times we are in. This seems like a perfect time for worshippers to arise and declare the goodness of God in the power of the God!
