AN UNSHAKABLE KINGDOM

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (Hebrews 12:28 NKJV)

Are you experiencing an unshakable kingdom? In this passage of scripture, the believers were assured that they were receiving a kingdom that could not be shaken, so it stands to reason that it is the same kingdom that God provides for us.

There is no doubt that we all encounter some shaking from time to time, but that does not change the kingdom that we have received. God is unshakable. Jesus is unshakable. The Holy Spirit is unshakable. Therefore since God dwells in us richly, we too can stand unshakable.

We have, as Hebrews tells us, a cloud of witnesses that we can draw from. This is not a cloud of people watching to see how we do. This is a cloud of people who have already done it and who have entered heaven and now see how much more was available to them. We are blessed with understanding and in position for things that they dreamed of looking into. We have the benefit of nearly two thousand years of revelation to draw from. We should be doing great works and experiencing greater things.

Don’t shut those words out. Just as many other things have advanced in our world as a result of greater understanding, so should we grow and mature in the things of the Kingdom of God with increased understanding.

When we asked the question, “What is a while,” we had to acknowledge that we can affect how much time is involved in a while. In the same way, we play a role in how shakable we are and how shakable our corner of the kingdom is.

How full of grace are we? Can we be as full as we want to be? Grace is the empowering and enabling presence of God. Who determines the measure of our grace? God fills our tank, but we may choose to run on fumes! All things are possible with God, so it is not the truth if we say that we can’t, when God says we can!

How do we serve God acceptably? We do that through Christ who has already made us acceptable. Do some people get a greater measure of grace? I don’t think so. The grace of God is the grace of God. How much do we want to grow in the grace that is given to us? Do we desire to develop a deeper walk with God? That is the question.

God is consistently unshakable and it should be our goal to live that same way. We can continually increase the strength of our walk and the manifestations of the kingdom of God that follow us. This is a call from God for all not just for a few. It is actually more of a promise assuring us that this is His plan for us. It is time that we become unshakable in our stand for the Word of God.
