ANSWER TROUBLES WITH TRUST
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
We could say that troubles traumatize us but trust tranquilizes us. Trust troubles our troubles. Troubles come, but we can trust the Lord at all times. If we are honest, it seems that we all have a tendency to focus on the troubles more easily than we do on the trust. We can change this but of course it takes an effort. Worry seems to come more naturally. It is supernatural to trust.
I hate troubles. I desire to avoid trials. However, the truth is they exist. They come into our lives in an attempt to destroy our trust. The more we recognize this, the better we can cut the troubles off before they wear us out.
We cannot worry ourselves strong. We can fear our way into being fearless. The only way to victory is to trust in our deliverer. Our deliverer is God. Jesus is our friend. The Holy Spirit is our guide and our comforter and He immediately tells us to trust.
We should wake up trusting before any troubles can come calling! If we start our day declaring our trust and committing ourselves to His care, then when troubles to attack we have something to declare. “I already settled in my heart that I would trust in the Lord so all my troubles are settled! I have nothing to fear!”
So often people say that they are prepared for the worst, but it seems to me that preparing for the best would make us stronger in the face of the worst. Life may disappoint us, but trusting in the Lord will never be a disappointment.
God promises to never leave us or forsake us. We truly can do all things through Christ who strengthens and encourages us. God is with me always. Yes, trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding. There is nothing wrong with our own understanding; we just cannot lean on it when it is not in agreement with what God has promised.
If someone calls you on the phone and you do not recognize their voice but you do recognize the number and photo that pops up on your phone what do you do. When they explain why their voice sounds different, do you still insist that it is not them?
Well, things pop up in life that do not fit our plans. Things sometimes just do not seem right. We have prayed. We have trusted the best we know how and are just about worn out. In the face of such circumstances we told to just stand. Yes trust is the answer. When it does not sound right or feel right and we feel like giving up; just keep trusting. I have spent many nights declaring that I will lie down in peace and sleep because I put my trust in the Lord. I do not know how many times I declared it before I fell asleep but trust always wins. And yes, I have often awakened to a need to start my day declaring I trust in the Lord. Trust does trample troubles. Trust!
