ANY TIME YOU WANT IT
So they went out and preached that men should repent (that is, think differently, recognize sin, turn away from it, and live changed lives.) (Mark 6:12 AMP)
Have you ever asked for something that you really did not want? More than likely, you have. I am certain that we all have, at one time or another told someone we were sorry or please forgive me, when in fact we still felt right and completely just in what we said or did? Maybe later we actually realized we should be sorry and really should apologize.
The truth is we are not perfect, but we should be perfectible if we really want to be found in Christ. There is no shame in sin if we want to be rid of it. God has promised to forgive us if we want forgiveness. Any time we want it; it is ours. I want God. I really want God. Say that out loud. Use it as a weapon in the midst of all the things that you experience in life. The good and the bad, the highs and the lows, are all made better with this on our hearts. I want God!
Paul wrote to the Corinthians telling them that God always does what He says; that all of His promises are yes and amen. So everything that God promises He will do, He will do! He has promised to give us a new heart, and all of the things in the river of God flow to and through any heart that loves God more than anything. God requires that we love Him. In order to love Him we need to know Him. At first, we may be in the process of learning about Him, but we do not have to know much about Him to love Him. Just knowing that our guilt and shame are in the sea of forgetfulness with our sins opens a door of gratitude and love. Every day then becomes another day to say, “I want you God!”
Jesus preached repentance, the forgiveness of sins, and the goodness of God. This was the message that He sent the disciples out with and it is the message that sets men free. The forgiveness, as we all know was purchased on the Cross by Christ for us. The requirement for us to receive it is repentance. There is no other way. As the amplified bible says, that requires turning away and living changed lives.
I just saw an advertisement for a product that you can put on your car or motorcycle that would virtually eliminate the need to wash it every again. I am a bit skeptical to say the least, but I am also a bit tempted to see if it works. Of course in order to find out, I need to pay a rather high price, and I need to use it a few times before it is completely activated. How many times I wonder. As many times as it takes as it takes I guess.
The promises of God require that we activate them with our repentance and that we keep applying them to our lives. They are available all the time any time we want. “I want God!” NOW! Yes, now is time. It is always time. Do you have time? God is always on time.
