ARE YOU REIGNING

For if by one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one Jesus Christ.(Romans 5:17 NKJ)

Do you have life, or does life have you? Are things going to be the way they are no matter what, or are they going to be the way that God says they should be? Are you standing in line to take what is handed out, or are you standing in the line that has what you are looking for? In other words, who is in charge? Have you taken charge of your life and submitted yourself to the kingdom of God where you can reign in the One Christ Jesus? The key word here is can. You can if you want to.

A lesson from the ant:
Today, some of my family raided an ant hill in order to complete an ant farm. You have to have ants you know! As soon as the ants were in the new environment, they went right back to doing what ants do. The did not sit around a wish they were somewhere else…they just went to work. Each one has a particular job that they do well and they just keep doing it no matter where they are.

As Christians, we should be much the same. When we come into the family of God we should simply be about the business of the Kingdom. We all have things that we did before. We have jobs and gifts and we keep using them. The difference is that we do all things to the glory of God. We do them as though we are doing them for the Lord. It is not intended to be complicated. When Jesus called the disciples, he simply said, “follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” These were not necessarily holy men who were living righteous lives. Peter was a fisherman, a sailor! More than likely quite rough around the edges, (nothing against sailors, my dad was a navy man) but Jesus simply said follow me! The same was the case with tax collectors, and sellers of purple, as well as with a woman with seven demons.

This is His same call to us today. Everyone who will, may receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness so that we can reign in life. Things may not always be smooth, but God has promised to straighten crooked roads, and smooth out rough ones. Having faith that God will do all that He says puts us in a position to reign in life, rather than have life dictate to us. We can have troubles with out being troubled!

We need to get used to walking this way, because we will have to in order to accomplish what God has planned in these last days. So let us ask ourselves again. Do I have life, or does life have me?
