BACK TO THE PLACE
Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life. (Prov. 4:23 ERV)
It is all in your head! This is the declaration that is often made about things that others do not necessarily understand. A person is sick and someone says it is all in their head. A person is afraid and the same thing is said. Truly, according to the word of God, our thoughts do control our lives.
Our thoughts can lead us into all truth or our thoughts can follow a lie. Our thoughts enable us to trust God or deny God. Our minds are powerful things. God made us that way so that we could make good choices.
Quite some time ago, I started sharing bits and pieces of dream that I had about a place. For nearly two years now, the Lord has brought that place up at different times and in different circumstances pointing out that these particular things were part of the dream.
Here again, I am back at the place and in the place God has pointed out that what I think; what we think; controls our place in the place He has for us.
When I first found myself in the place, there was a dark tunnel that I only glimpsed or was only allowed to glimpse. I only remember that it was dark and unknown but at the same time it seemed to be safe. It was not a place that I was allowed to stay at however.
It was in the place, the house that I found that when I thought of something I found it. When I thought about what I would eat, there it was. I have come to realize that all these things, as the Bible refers to them did not suddenly appear; rather they were there all the time. They were an illustration and confirmation of God’s promise that when we seek first the Kingdom of God all other things will be added to us. When you seek me you will find me. When you call I will answer. When you draw near I will draw near. Yes, all the promises of God are yes and amen. His promises are obviously too numerous to mention, but you get the idea.
So now we go back to the unknown. It has become clear to me that the unknown, the tunnel, is really a very desirable place. It is the place where we believe without seeing. We believe because we know. It is good to know that you know even though the only reason you know is because you know Him.
In that place especially we need to keep our thoughts under control, because that confident place is the place the enemy really hates. It is the place where we stand and stand and stand. It is the place we confidently strap on the armor. We pray in the Spirit and we are assured of the victory.
I do not yet know what all is in that tunnel, but think I am about to begin to learn more about it. Get in the place with God. Trust Him. Think of His goodness and promises.
