BREATHE ON ME

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

Pentecost! The day that Jesus told the disciples to wait for so they would receive the power that would be necessary to be what He had called them to be and do what He had called them to do. The day the Holy Spirit would be poured out and they would be changed.

Holy Spirit is present to change us as well! Unfortunately, He is not going to make us change! Jesu said that we would receive power; what are we doing with it?

I have two brand new batteries for my motorcycles sitting in my closet. I bought them because I wanted to have them on hand when I needed them. I charge them once a year, because that is what I am supposed to do according to the instructions. I just have never put them to work. If I take proper care of them, I am pretty sure they will do the job if I decide I need them.

They really do belong in my closet. Holy Spirit does not belong in the closet either. We are not supposed to be powerless Christians. We are not supposed to decide what we like or do not like about what the bible says about “THE HOLY SPIRIT!” We are supposed to want everything God has for us!

Do not quench the Spirit. Stir up the gifts that Jesus promised you would receive. Don’t hide behind who you think you are or what you think you like. Present yourself to God and load up. Then do what Christ inside you wants you to do.

The power of God is never ending. You do not need to be discouraged, be encouraged by the promise of God. As one of my friends declares in ministry; LET THE LION LOOSE!

There is no such thing as enough. There is no place for indifference in a walk with God. Many times I have asked someone if they would like something and their response was, “I don’t care.” My response to that is, “then neither do I!”

For the first 30 years of my life, I qualified as being indifferent when it came to God. I wrote a song saying, I used to think that you were just ok and good for other people who needed you each day.

Sadly, that is the response of far too many people when it comes to the power the Holy Spirit brings into our lives. When Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, “receive the Holy Spirit,” it was not an elective! It was a command. The people asked what they should do and Peter told them what to do and what would happen if they did.

We have come to a time when we need to walk in power. People need to see the difference the Lord makes in our lives. We have a river of life ready to flow. We know things and can do things that we do not know we know or know that we can do. Abundant life is what Jesus came to give us. Holy Spirit waiting for your call. Fill me till I overflow Lord!
