CHANGE CHANGEING CHANGED

Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us the new way, we never give up. (Cor4:1 NLT)

I was listening recently as a man was speaking of the revival that we all want to see in America and around the world. We want to see billions of souls saved! As I listened, I heard the Lord say, “changed.” God wants to save us! With the promise of salvation come the opportunity to change.

If we seek the Lord, we will change. We cannot help but change. We should resist the changes He offers to make. As an older song suggests, we can trade our sorrow, pain, anger, sickness; we can exchange anything and everything for the joy of the Lord.

When we come to Jesus, He says that we are the light of the world. Recently, we had a light that was not working. I assumed that the switch was fine and that the power was there; it just needed a bulb. When I put in the first bulb, it worked, but it did not fit the fixture so I had to see if I could find a bulb that would fit. I found one, put it together and we now have light where there was none.

As I considered change, I thought about the changing of the bulb. The power was present. Jesus is always present. God is always present to do and be what He promises. We have the Holy Spirit Who flips the switch. Will we shine? Are we prepared to adjust the bulb. One testimony does not necessarily fit every situation. Being prepared for every opportunity requires a desire to meet the need and the determination to complete the course.

I wanted to be saved, once I knew I needed to be saved! The moment I was saved, I knew I needed to change. I had no idea how much I needed to change. It is a never-ending process! Truly we are offered the opportunity to be continually changed from glory to glory.

Just like the first light bulb that worked but did not fit, I find that God often fine tunes and changes over and over. Just when I think I should be good in an area, bam He comes with a different bulb. So once we change from darkness to light, He keeps changing us until one day when we are totally and perfectly changed! That day will only come when we enter His presence in Glory. Until then, we have a wonderful journey as we move toward that.

As we all know, everything does not always appear to be wonderful along the way. That is how we learn to hold on to the One who is wonderful. We go to Him for counsel. We go to Him for wisdom and peace. The answer is always the same! Jesus said, “Come unto me…I will give you rest.”

When Jesus came into our lives, Vikki and both knew something needed to change. In all of my wisdom I think I was thinking it was up to her to change. In her thinking, which was not her, but God leading, she spoke to Him and asked for help. Her exact words were, “God help us, there is a devil in this house!” The rest is history, with the story still being written. Glory to God!

There are a lot of bulbs that just do not fit the plans of God. Don’t be stubborn or fooled. Be changed!
