CONSIDER IT IN YOUR HEART

Therefore, know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. (Deuteronomy 4:39)

There is no doubt that we are busy people. We have so many things to distract us. We have so many things to consider. Yes, there are many important and unimportant things that drift through our minds, and we must sort them out. We have the task of prioritizing our lives and we choose what we are really going to consider.

Sometimes we do a good job of it, and sometimes we don’t. In this passage of scripture, Moses is going over the importance of considering the most important thing. He warns Israel that they will fail to follow God. He also reminds them that if they will call on God, He will hear them and rescue them.

Finally, He warns and advises them; He reminds them to consider in their hearts, that the Lord, the one who chose them is God in heaven and on earth. There is no other. He adds that if they do that, it will go well for them and their children. They will have a good life!

How often do we consider the works of His hands? How often do we remember to praise Him for all that He has done for us? Do we see His goodness even when things do not line up with our plans? Are we quick to simply throw a blanket of prayer on the fires that pop up and cause us to fear?

Remember, the Lord is our strength. He is our refuge and our fortress. He is above all things. He desires to be our everything.

He promises that no weapon formed against us can prosper! We may well suffer a bruised heel, but by the power of God we smash troubles head. We can praise our way to victory. We may not feel like it, but we can do it.

We are instructed to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. If we do, He will strengthen us. We really can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We do not have to understand how this all works. We simply need to consider that it just might!

You see, the enemy wants us to declare that nothing will work out. Natural thinking screams, no way. It will never work. God says it will. Whose report will we believe?

Consider in your heart, that God is who God says that He is. Consider that He has chosen you. He has a plan for you. There is a way for you. “Fear not”! That is a word from God that is followed by the promise that He is with you.

If you have never considered Him, today is a great day to do that. Consider Him in your heart now!
