CONSTANT CARE

What is man that You are mindful of him and the son of man that You visit him? (Ps. 8:4 NKJ)

God knows that we require constant care. Whether we realize it or not, He is providing that kind of care for each and every person on the earth. It may not always look that way, but there are things that keep the care from getting through. By faith we know that God is still doing His part and keeping His promises.

In the midst of what is being called a national crisis, that is ultimately impacting much of the world, we are seeing many people turn to the government expecting them to work this out. Well the only way the government can begin to remedy this would be if the government were to follow God’s plan for care. Followers of God need to make sure that we maintain our dependence upon God. In fact this may very well be the best opportunity that we have to see God reveal His favor for His people and to give Him the glory for it.

This is a time when we can reflect and realize that it has been God all along seeing us through everything that there is to get through. David caught a glimpse of God’s faithfulness to care for him and acknowledged that it was amazing that Almighty God would be so focused on mere mortals as to provide constant care for them and to give them dominion over everything He made. Even though we often fail to even recognize His care in our lives, our amazing God just keeps being amazing.

The truth is that we all want someone to care about us and about the things we care about. Most people have a hard time grasping that God cares about every little thing. Jesus tried to simplify and clarify this when He pointed out that God cared about sparrows, grass, and flowers. He said if God cared so much about things that we seldom think about, would it be too much to believe that He cares about us more. If we have read the Bible at all, or heard it preached, we know about this passage of scripture. It all sounds nice, but how often do we take it to heart or expect the promises to manifest.

Well the depth to which we receive the truth determines the height to which we will fly with the truth. There is another very important part to this truth. We should understand that caring is a very important seed in the Kingdom of God. If God cares so much for us, then we in turn are expected to care for ourselves and for others. Yes we need to care for ourselves too. If we do not care about ourselves we will not care very well for others either. We need to care enough about ourselves to keep ourselves in the love of God.

When we do that we will in turn focus on caring for others. The more we understand God’s care for us, the more we will understand how to care for Him and for others. This would be a different world if everyone lived in a constant state of caring!
