CONSTANT FAITH

Jesus replied, "Have faith in God constantly. (Mark 11:22 AMP)

How important is Jesus? This is a good question to ask ourselves. In Mark 6 we see people coming to Jesus laying the sick before Him and asking even to touch the hem of his garment. Whoever touched it was made well.
So how important is it for us to go the Jesus? Is it important for us to seek Him out and to make an effort to touch Him? Is it important for us to hang on for all that we are worth and to love Him with all of our being? Well, of course the answer to all of these questions is a giant YES!
In Colossians 2 we are encouraged to walk in union with the Lord. Philippians 2 tells us that God is effectively at work in us. Ephesians 2 tells us that we are His workmanship. He is giving us all we need to come to Him and to walk with Him and to abide in Him; all we need to do is do it.
We are the ones to decide how important Jesus is to us. He has already decided about our importance to Him.
God is a big deal! He is not important sometimes; He is important all of the time! He works in our lives waiting for the time when we will see this and respond and understand that He has always wanted one thing. He has always wanted you and me.
I wrote a song long ago speaking to the idea that I never really gave much thought to God. I wasn’t excited I decided what would be would be. But that all changed when I finally took that first step. Then I knew now is the time. Make up your mind. Give your life to the Lord. He changed everything!
Over the years I have discovered the importance of hanging on, of pressing in, and never letting go. When things feel out of reach, we have to stretch just a little further. We need to have that constant kind of faith. Jesus must be our everything!
Constant faith is not us being perfect; constant faith is us being dependent on Christ. We need to choose; not just try to choose.
We are referred to as the bride of Christ. In marriage vows, we don’t say I will try to love and honor and be faithful. If anyone said that at the ceremony it would certainly get everyone’s attention. Jesus never said we should try. He said we should choose. And so daily, we choose. Every hour, second, and moment we choose because our lives depend on it. God is faithful. He does His part. Our part is believing, trusting, seeking, and never letting go.
