CONTINUE IN WHAT IS RIGHT

Look closely at your at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith.(2 Cor. 13:5 ERV)

God never gives up on us, nor does He ever let us down. The truth is, we may let God down on occasion, but we should never give up on Him. Remember, He is faithful when we are not. We all know that we are works in progress; the key word being, progress. We must be determined to progress in our faith or the gravity of this world will pull us down.
We are actually called and empowered to live above the power of the enemy. We are warned early on in God’s Word, that the sin or the enemy stands right there waiting for the opportunity to destroy us. We can learn to block him out and focus on what God says, but again it requires desire on our part. Who do we prefer to hear from? What do we prefer in life? What is the source of our life?
There is a chorus with a line that says, “I choose to be holy.” It is a choice. It would be wonderful if God would make us be holy, but He won’t. We have been made holy in Christ Jesus, but we do not have to be what we are made to be. It is a choice. It is knowing Him that makes the choice make sense.
Once it makes sense to us, it does not matter if it makes no sense to anyone else. Our reward is in the Lord. Still, this requires continually choosing God and His ways. The Holy Spirit is our guide to recognize compromise. Sadly, He seldom shouts at us! He nudges, whispers, or flashes a low light on things and gives us the choice of agreeing or ignoring.
Our level of perception is tied tightly to our desire of reflection. In other words, what and who do we want to reflect. Have you ever been frowned upon for reflecting Christ? If you desire Him, the answer is yes. That is of course unless you live where there are no people! Even then, someone would be talking about you moving somewhere to pray.
It is not always easy to choose to live for Jesus, until it is easy because you have no other choice. Jesus chose to do His father’s will because He had to do His father’s will. He never failed; and because He never failed, He is the perfect one to intercede for us when we do.
We all fail, but we should never give up. We can rise up from those ashes in victory and move on to the next mountain. Remember, we have been made more than conquerors. Once we decide to press, the enemy comes to point our failures in hopes we will change our minds. He never congratulates you on your successes. So if you feel condemned, guess where that comes from.
Jesus on the other hand takes our hand, raises us up, dusts us off and encourages us to go on. The rewards far out way the cost and being convinced of this will keep us pressing just as Jesus did; enduring the cross for that joy set before Him. You are that joy. He endured for you. Wow!
