CONTINUE TO SPEAK

And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak the Word of God with freedom and boldness and courage. (Acts 4:31 AMP)

One thing that we must always continue to do is speak the Word of God. Once we have come to know the truth we must not allow anything to keep us from it. If we stop, we cut off our own supply lines as well as the life lines that others are looking for. They really are looking even if they don’t act like it!

I am especially reminded of this as we move into the Christmas season. There is such a push to call this the holiday season and it is simply because the devil is succeeding at deceiving people. He is, after all, the number one hater of Jesus. If it were not for Christ we would not have this holiday. Everyone wants to benefit from it, but more and more people want to remove the benefactor from it. The best way to beat that is just keep speaking the Word of God.

Recently I have observed and felt a heightened resistance in the spiritual realm. From past experience I have learned that the devil does this when he is nervous. It is like he is trapped in a corner and trying to bluff his way out. Well if you are feeling like it just does not do any good to continue speaking and like everything you say is falling on deaf ears. Especially if you think God is not paying attention. Don’t give up! Continue speaking and walking because something is shaking.

I am reminded of Israel when they were walking around Jericho. Do you suppose they wondered why they bothered? Do you suppose some thought it was bit useless to do that every day? I can imagine people yelling at them from the wall and throwing things at them, but they just kept walking. By their actions, they were speaking the Word of God without saying a word. They were walking in obedience and when they finally did speak (in this case they shouted) God confirmed His word and the walls came down giving them the promised victory.

Yes when we continue in faithfulness, we are speaking without saying a word. When we refuse to be discouraged; when we will not let the devil steal our joy; when we hold fast to our faith; we are speaking the Word of God, and we can be sure that He will perform His Word according to His promise. So don’t be weary. Remember. You are winning. In Christ we have the victory. Keep speaking the truth. His Word is truth. So be ready at all times to speak those words of life.
