DECISION TIME
If the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you. (John 15:18)
We all have choices to make. As we honor the men and women who bravely served and gave their lives for this country, we need to consider if we are going to keep what they fought for or stand aside and watch it die.
I know that I never considered that would or could possibly be in such a state, but we are. If you think this sounds dramatic, then you are not paying attention. If we are paying attention, then we have decisions to make.
There are two teams in the world. The devil’s team, and God’s team. Both captains have chosen us. The devil has chosen to destroy us by any means possible. He will lie, delude, intrude, cheat, steal, and any other foul thing you can think of to get what He wants. God on the other hand will simply love you. He is the truth, so He tells the truth. He will not force you to do anything, but promises you success, health, protection, and provision if you choose His team.
Yes, you will be hated by the same one who hated Jesus, but so what! Are you going to stand for eternity or temporarily? Are we going to let the love of the Lord that never fails be our strength, or just follow the crowds to destruction?
Some people will honor those who chose to defend our country, and others will mock and riot to try and minimize the great victories they won. How foolish and deluded can people be? Who would not be grateful!
Still, we choose the side that we will stand on. The Lord has set before us the way of life and death. Joshua told the people to choose who they would serve. Caleb joined Joshua in saying that they could certainly possess the land that God was giving them.
Moses asked who was on the Lord’s side. Elija asked who would serve God and who would serve Baal. In every case, there were people who stood by to see how it would turn out and, in every case, there were some people who jumped quickly from dark to light.
God never made anyone choose what He offered. He simply clarified the choices. We are at a place where those who walk in darkness while claiming to be in the light are glimpsing the depth of the darkness! Don’t be afraid to walk out into the light!
Run into the light. Peter denied Christ. How dark is that. Everyone knew what He did. Paul persecuted, jailed, and cheered as Christians died. There is a long list of people who walked in darkness but came to the light.
Arise and shine people. Come out of the darkness and let your light shine. Wherever you are, God has chosen you. America needs you. The world needs you. Only God can fix the mess we are in, and He will if we will call on Him and give Him the Glory that is due His NAME. He is our blessed hope.
