DEPOSIT CONFIDENTLY

When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. (Isaiah 53:11 NLT)

There is definitely something satisfying about making a deposit in another person’s life. Large or small, a deposit is a deposit and in Christ we have the privilege of being life changers. It is not up to us to determine the final outcome of the deposit, but we can be confident that the Lord will accomplish much.
Though we cannot bear another person sins, we can bear with them when they are in sin. We can forgive. We can encourage. We can direct. We can even correct. The key is in our being prepared to do all things in Christ.
We simply need to present ourselves to Christ and have confidence in Him and His ability to do what He has promised to do.
As Christians, we know that He finished the work on the cross. We know it because God says so. The difference comes when we know it in our hearts. Sometimes it is hard for our head to convince our heart. Our head wants to see what our heart knows. Satisfaction comes with knowing deep in our hearts that we have made the deposit.
When I go to the bank in our wonderful little town to make a deposit, they always ask if I need a receipt. I almost always tell them I trust that it will be in my account and to save the paper. In our computer age, I can see my account anytime I want, and it reminds me what transactions have taken place. It seems to me that if I can trust in the bank and those who work there, I certainly can trust in the Lord to do what He has promised.
God has promised that He will never fail us. If we are faithful, we can be sure that He is. Though I do not run to the bank with a nickel to deposit it, there is no deposit too small when it comes to the things of God. Something that we might see as a waste, God sees a seed sown at just the right time.
We have within us all that we need. We have truth that will build us up and as we are built up we can build others up.
We are told that our battle is not with men but with the ruler of the darkness of this world. This is so obvious in our present age. People openly deny God and fight for things that break his heart and many who really do love God get swept along in the stream of things that they know are not right. We must confidently deposit truth wherever we can. God is able to do so much with so little. Give him your little and you will be satisfied with what God accomplishes.
