DON'T JUST SIT THERE
And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. (Acts 14:8 NKJ)
What are we going to do? What can we do? We have all been in situations where we just sat down. Whether it was due to despair, confusion, frustration, or fatigue, we simply gave up. Right now we are seeing times in our nation and the world, where the wise are confused, scrambling, and looking foolish and the rest of the people are fearful.
There are some people who are not fearful. Those who rely on the Word of God are prepared for amazing and wonderful things. Are you one of them? If you are a child of God, you should be! You can be. Will you be?
There was a man in this crowd that Paul was speaking to who had never walked. How did he get to where Paul was preaching? Did he have someone take him there or did he just happen to be planted where the people gathered. Either way, he had a choice. He could just sit there and experience nothing, or he could receive the word that was able to change his life. We know that he listened, and when Paul saw his faith he commanded the man to stand up and the man stood up and walked.
If we have heard the Word of God at all we know that it speaks to every season and circumstance of life. The question is; what are we doing with it? In the 10th chapter of 1st Corinthians we are reminded that even though everyone partook of great miracles, most of them died in the wilderness because of unbelief. We are also told that those things were written down so that we could learn from them.
The man who was weak in his feet started that day just like every other day of his life but when Paul began to speak, he began to listen with all his heart. He began to believe there just might be a way. He looked to this man with the answers. He responded to Paul’s words. He stood up and walked.
Friends, in every situation and circumstance, Jesus is the way! Deep down inside us the Holy Spirit bears witness to this fact. It is time to arise and shine for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
As we continue looking at the strength of our feet, we will explore how this can change every area of our lives and advance the Kingdom of God in the process. Are you ready to stand like you have never stood before? Show us your ways Lord. Teach us your paths.
