EVERY TIME

This is how you should pray. (Luke 11:2)

We should pray! I am certain that we all do pray, and I am certain that we all know that we should pray with confidence, believing that God hears and answers every prayer! I am also certain that we all run short of confidence when we pray. When we do not see results, it can be a challenge.

Some teach that we should only pray once and that we do not need to pray again, but how do we do that perfectly? And Jesus told us to keep knocking, seeking, and asking, so what do we do with that. Jesus said in John 7:24, “Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.” Let’s just say that only God can judge our prayers and He can only judge them if we pray. So, feel free to pray!

Recently as I was praying for something that I had prayed about many times, wondering what I could say that would really be worth His attention, a thought came to me that I am pretty sure came from God.

I have mentioned that we have a new granddaughter and thanks to technology, we get to see little videos of her cooing and grunting, and you know those amazing things that babies do; well, we thoroughly enjoy them and watch them more than once. We never just ignore them or delete them. We cherish them. We keep them just like the ones we received of our other grandchildren. Could it be that God was pointing out to me that I should just pray? Could it be that God likes to hear us?

Let me encourage you with this thought. Every time we pray, something happens. Every time there is an increase in what God is accomplishing concerning that prayer. No prayer is useless, and no prayer is beyond God’s ability to perfect it.

Consider this. A paint shop may spray any number of layers on a car to get that perfect finish. Why would it be wrong to add another layer to your prayer?

Every time we pray, the wall gets stronger and taller. Every time the hedge around that need becomes more protective. Every time you pray the Lord leans in. He does not put us on mute just because He has heard that prayer before.

Just like no sparrow falls to the ground without God taking notice, so no prayer gets flushed or forgotten. Remember, we are like children to God and He is our father, and He loves us so much.

Oh, I love it when prayers are answered before I pray them. I love those instant responses from God. But looking at each prayer as another layer in the perfect finish helps me to leave the shop with satisfaction that it is only a matter of another coat or two. I can feel good that another hole in the wall has been plugged and the hedge around me has been watered. I can smile as I have once again left it in God’s hands.

Praise till you feel like praising. Sing till you feel like singing. Give thanks until you feel thankful. Every time. Every time. God is faithful, every time!
