EVERYBODY MUST
With every bone in my body, I will praise Him. Lord, who can compare with you? (Psalm 35:10)
We are told that we must do this, and we must do that; we get emails that tell us things we cannot live without. We all know things that we really must do like stopping at a stop sign, but we know that does not always happen! Still, there are things we need to do and there are things we need to avoid. We get to choose what we will and will not do. Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we get it wrong!
God gives us choices and well. There are things that we must do and things we must not do if we desire all that God has promised us. There are times when doing what God wants seems difficult. There are times when we think we just cannot do what God requires and that God is unreasonable. Still, we need to ultimately concede that God does know what He is doing and that it is always the best thing for us.
David gives us the best way to make everyday work best. The answer is to praise the Lord. When we praise the Lord, we gain strength. The arm of the Lord is mighty, and He lifts us up. Praise helps us to see that whatever seems so large or difficult is not so large compared to God.
The Red Sea looked like the end to Israel, but God said stand still and see the Glory of God. If we will pause and look to God, we will feel praise begin to rise up in us. If we do not feel like praising, then we need to begin to praise anyway. Bring a sacrifice of praise into your house!
If we think that sounds foolish, then perhaps we need to back up to other things that we must do that we may have missed.
We love the Lord! If we do not want to praise Him, perhaps our love has gone away or perhaps it never really was there. We must check to see where we are.
Jesus said we must be born again; perhaps we did not think that was important! The truth is that we need everything that God says. Our lives are in what He says. We must know that! We can exist on bread, water, and breathing; but we cannot live without God. In Him is life!
We must trust in the Lord with all of our being. It takes an effort on our part. Trusting God is not something we can do when we occasionally feel like it; trusting is something we must do continually. It must be as natural to trust God as it is to breathe!
We must have faith that God is able to do more than we can imagine and that His plans for us are good. We must practice our faith daily in ways that are open and shining. We must be aware of the needs of others to see faith in action. We must experience God, not just acknowledge Him.
Praise produces the experience of His presence because He inhabits our praise. We must know the love of the Lord so that we can share the love of the Lord. We must!
