FEAR NOT
Fear not little flock, for it is your Father's pleasure to give you the kingdom.(Luke 12:32 NKJ)
This is an appropriate day to say fear not. Especially when you consider that a good portion of the world is celebrating one of Satan’s favorite days. Some are doing it openly and blatantly, while others perform all sorts of sacrifices in secret meetings. There are also those who dress up in the name of fun, having no idea what pleasure it gives to the prince of darkness. Little children will disappear, and only small portion of the destruction will be reported or attributed to its true source. Worst of all, many Christian people will join right in, not seeing any harm in what they consider to be part of growing up for children. Some churches will even have halloween parties, instead of Hallelujah nights, Fall Festivals, and prayer watches.
Fear is a powerful force that the enemy uses to destroy people. Fear of failure begins many on the road to suicide. Fear of being alone leads people into wrong relationships. Fear of poverty leads to people to steal, and the list goes on. The response of Jesus to all fear, is FEAR NOT! He tells us that it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
You see, the devil goes about seeking whom He may devour. He consumes people by lying to them and filling them with fear. He quite successfully convinces people that there is no way to overcome the fear he puts on them. True, non Christians have no power over the devil, and he is in fact powerful. Christians however, must realize that the devil has no power over them, unless they believe the lies and succumb to the fear.
In another scripture the Lord told the story of the sparrow, and then said, “fear not, for you are of more value than the sparrow.” He also tells us not to worry, or be fearful about provision or protection or anything else. The key to overcoming all of these fears is to seek the kingdom of God first. Remember, it is His pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Now ask yourself this. Is there fear in the Kingdom of God? Is God afraid? Is there any power that can stand before Him? Or any need that He cannot supply? Is there any problem He cannot solve? The answer to all of these and anything else you can think of, is NO! So then, we really have nothing to fear. God cannot fail!!
God told Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not to fear. He told Moses, David, Joshua, the prophets, and all of Israel not to fear. Jesus tells us not to fear anything or anyone, except the Lord Himself. So on this day when fear is flaunted, give the devil a black eye and resolve to never fear again. And when fear does come knocking, do not open the door, because no one you know is interested in giving fear an opportunity to sell his game. Instead, begin to rejoice in the Lord and the power of His might!!!
