FRIENDS WITH GOD
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. (Romans 5:11)
I am a friend of God! Through faith in Christ Jesus, we have been made friends with God! God is my friend. Say that. Think about that. What does a friend do? A friend helps. A friend sees us through good times and hard times. What a friend we have in Jesus.
This is why and how we can rejoice when we run into various problems. Even with Jesus, we all run into stuff, right? Of course we do. The difference is, we now have a friend who is the ultimate problem solver.
Every time we experience the victory that is in Jesus, our confidence level rises. We really can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. The stronger we get, the greater our trust and understanding that God does not disappoint!
Do you remember when you were helpless and hopeless and without God? Do you remember the joy of your salvation?
I remember when something happened and did not know exactly what it was. I also remember when things fell into place and found out what happened, and I knew the joy of salvation. I will never cease to praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The song He touched me, says, something happened, and now I know. He touched me and made me whole. Something happens when we consider Jesus. Jesus keeps happening. Jesus keeps comforting. Jesus keeps leading. What a friend we have in Jesus.
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for our sins. (6) When we finally realize that we are helpless, the truth sets us free. He died for me! I’m living and I am free, because one great as He; He gave His life for me.
In great times or terrible times, He does not change. That is why we should always rejoice in Him. Yes, we can, if we will.
The moment we begin to give thanks, chains begin to fall to the ground. I picture untying a knot. At first it was just too tight. When we were little, we needed help. Then we got older, and we could untie it ourselves. There were times when we still needed help, but we were not helpless when we faced a knot. Soon we could help others untie their knots.
We, of course, still run into knots that we want to just cut and run from, but we have a relationship with God that strengthens and carries us. We can rejoice in all circumstances. We can rejoice our way to victory. Then we can keep rejoicing.
Always rejoice in the Lord. Look unto Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith. This is not new, but it is important. Remember when you were helpless and hopeless. Maybe you have run into a knot today. I pray this helps loosen that knot.
