FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH
The Word became a man and lived among us. We saw his divine greatness; the greatness that belongs to the only son of the Father. The Word was full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 ERV)
What are you full of? This was my question to self as I read this scripture. By faith in the power of God, and according to what He says; we have been filled with all that is His. So somewhere in this earthen vessel is nothing but grace and truth.
Previously, we talked about messengers. We are all messengers. That is all we are. We are called by God to deliver the message. The greatest example of course of a messenger, was The Messenger Himself Jesus Christ. He was in fact our example of how to walk full of grace and truth. He was grace and truth and walked in the power of God. According to scripture, we are filled with this same power.
So now we are full of grace and truth and power. The power flows with the grace and truth. Grace and truth produce powerful results. It was the flow of grace and truth that brought us to understand the message of the messenger and the results were powerful. We were transformed into the image of God’s dear son. Yes something happened! When power is released, something happens. We make a choice and the power is released.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead and saved you and me is always ready to be released for more in the Kingdom of God. One key thing in being a messenger is to believe the message, but even more importantly we must believe the sender of the message. Kings messengers delivered the message because they desired to do what the king wanted; they did not even know what was sealed in the message and still they risked their lived to make the delivery. We have been given understanding of the message and empowered with grace and truth to deliver it. Now that is a great deal.
2 Corinthians Chapter 4 tells how the message is hidden to people who are lost. They are blind to the truth. We cannot hold it against someone if they do not see. We have the message to help them see. You would not bad mouth or judge someone who is blind; no, you would help them. In the same way we have been given a message full of grace and truth and filled with grace and truth so that the blind can see. We never know where or when we might encounter a person in this condition, but we can be sure we have what is needed to help.
Remember, it is not so much that we are doing this all day long every day, it is rather that we are always prepared and have a desire to share the truth with grace. Sometimes Jesus just played with children. Sometimes he sat down by a well. Sometimes he fished and cooked them. But no matter what He was doing, He was ready.
He simply asks us to take the treasures He has placed in us and do the same. I really desire to pull the curtain back on grace and truth and let it be revealed in my every word and deed. Oh there is always a deeper place to go in Christ!
