And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all His glory. (Colossians 3:4 NLT)
So I absolutely have no idea when it comes to all the abbreviations folks put in texts and messages etc. on the social media scene, but every now and then I find one of my own. I am sure you wondered what in the world the heading of this was all about; well it is simple. Our lives have a twofold purpose; Get God In…Let God Out!
As I was reading the bible recently I noticed that whenever something popped into my heart I was thinking of ways to share it. I had recently heard a man talking about reading the bible, not to get messages but to get fed and I told the Lord that did not want to just go to Him to get messages. He explained that I was reading and depositing the word in my heart and it was really what we are supposed to do. His word is to be a river of living water. So, even though I do not go to Him to get messages, the messages just naturally or supernaturally reproduce!
When we recently talked about not running to the bank to deposit a nickel each time we had it, it later occurred to me that if we did, even that nickel would be making interest. The same is true of the smallest thing of God that we get into us or let out of us. It is reproducing.
Someone once did the math on saving a penny and then doubling that each day. It starts small but in a very short time, it becomes a large amount. The bank might laugh the first day when you brought in a penny and then two pennies, but it would not be all that long before you were their favorite customer.
Scripture tells us to never grow weary of well doing. There are a many scriptures that point out the fact that there is nothing so small that the Lord cannot multiply it. Mustard seed faith can move a mountain. The smallest seed planted out of love and faithfulness to the Lord can do amazing things. No wonder the enemy does his best to keep us from getting God in and letting God out!
We are told to let God’s word go down deep and dwell richly in our hearts. We are limited, but Christ in us is not. We are encouraged not to put our hope in our own abilities but rather to trust in what God can do.
The pressure is off when we consider His promises. I have decided to be a promise picker; not picking and choosing what to believe and what not to believe, but rather picking every promise of God that I see and letting it dwell in me so at just the right time I will have it ready to share and apply for my life and others. I want to make to sure get God in and let God out. As they say, get while the getting is good. It is always good with God.
