GIVE GOD YOU
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him...He went without knowing where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8 NLT)
When we give things to someone, we give them with no strings attached; at least that is the way we should give. What God wants more than anything is you!
He does not want you to straighten up or know everything there is to know about being in a relationship with you, He just wants you. He has promised to take care of the rest. He has promised to complete the good work He has begun in you. He has everything under control, He just needs you.
It is hard to give Him you, when you want to know what He is up to and where He is taking you and how everything is going to go. We trust that He knows what He is doing. And if He is not doing it, He can handle it.
Yes, all God needs is you to accomplish great things for you and through you. The life He gives is better than we know. If we knew we would be His as soon as we heard about Him.
Some of us just never saw a need. Others thought that they had to be just right and had no hope of getting just right, so they have not bothered. I did both!
Abraham did not have everything right, nor did he do everything right. Abraham did not even really know God when He decided to trust God. So we don’t need to be deceived thinking we have to know all about what God is about and be everything He requires before we just give Him us.
What we will or can discover as we simply go with God when we do not know for sure where we are going is that there is excitement in looking forward to where He is taking us. It is just good to be with Him and have Him with us. More good news! He stays with us even when we lose sight of the prize.
Yes, there is a prize! There is always a prize! If we will become as little children, we will always look forward to the prize! God is good and God is able.
Oh, and we give ourselves to God and then we keep giving ourselves to God. Not because He forgets but to keep us aware of whose we are. Then when things come up, we remind ourselves that we are His.
When it seems impossible, we remember as the prophet surrounded by the enemy did, that those who are for us outnumber those who are against us. Give yourself to Him.
