GLORIFY AND HONOR
My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My true disciples. (John 15:8 AMP)
A long time ago a song came spontaneously in worship; it was simply Glory to God. God likes to receive glory. Can it really be that simple? Does Christ live in us to empower us to bring God glory?
Often times, people get so caught up in and complicate what God wants. People either feel like they do not have any gift that will really serve God or not know how to serve God with the gifts they have. Let me just say this, we all have gifts and they all give God glory. Jesus said He wants us to follow Him. As we follow Him, He is revealed and God is glorified.
We know that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness and all the other great things God has placed in us. When we have peace, we glorify God. When we are patient, we glorify God. Every time we manifest His fruit, He is glorified. So what if we simply live manifesting His fruit.
When we do this, we will have plenty of opportunities to express where these fruits come from. They come from God. Every good and perfect gift comes from God. Even those who do not give God the glory display God given gifts. It is when we realize that they are from God and give God the credit for them, that real glory is really released.
When our eyes are opened to see and recognize His glory, we can then encourage others and help them to see that they do in fact have God given gifts. This gives God glory. It is not so much about figuring out how to serve God perfectly, it is about following Jesus and revealing fruit that only He could place in us.
So our major calling is to glorify God. Other things may develop as we do, but God must always be glorified. All heaven shouts glory. That is how big of a deal it is. We can all do that! As we begin to make a conscious effort and intentionally consider glorifying God with our lives, it will soon begin to flow naturally. As we join the guidance of the Holy Spirit we will find that we are more conscious of what we do and say and if we fail to glorify God when we could have or should have we are confident that we can fix it. Just knowing the difference brings glory to God. We are all children of God, growing up into Christ.
We are called to be lights so that those who are searching will have someone to find to help them. We simply need to live letting our lights shine. That glorifies God. Christ in us has empowered us to do that. Glory to God in the highest!
