GO GO GO

So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!" (2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT)

We know that God is able to complete the good work that He has begun in us, but what are we doing with it? God’s grace has provided so much for us, but it does nothing for us if we do not walk in it. His grace is not performance based, but the results of the grace are!
For instance, He has made a way for all who call upon His name to be saved. That is grace. If we do not call, we do not receive what grace provides. Jesus said, “This is the way. Walk in it.” We are required to walk out the place of grace. We therefore, must continue in our relationship with God. We must continue to be built up on our most holy spirit who dwells in us.
It is a commitment that requires commitment. When I helped with the local track team, I would run around the track encouraging the runners to go, go, go! Near the end of race I would be hollering for them to kick. For those who do not know, that means to give it all you have and finish strong. Do not let up. So many times if you watch races you will see that the person who does not let up will be the one to finish first. At the same time, you can see people in the lead that let up and would have won the race if they would have just finished. Paul refers to faith as a race and there are many examples in life where we can see what happens when people let up.
My desire is to finish strong. I want to be able to say as Paul that I have fought the good fight and finished my course. The only way that will happen is if I run this race. I want to race into all that grace provides. It is waiting for me. It is not coming back to me. The Holy Spirit comes to tell me to go. He points out where it is. He leads me into all truth. The truth is that greater waves of grace are out there to ride.
So, when someone speaks of commitment, what does it do to you? For some time now, we have been talking about the power of commitment, the need for commitment, and the rewards of commitment, and the dangers of a lack of commitment. Has it made a difference? Have you heard the Holy Spirit telling you to go deeper? I have!
I used to run far and pretty fast. It was something I really liked to do. I do not run nearly as far or as fast as I once did for a number of reasons. I keep thinking that I need to get back to that, but so far I have not. It can be the same in our walk with God if we let it. I do not want that to happen. Sadly, some people have never run with God. Some have never even met Him. Some have been introduced but not impressed with God.
I am challenged to run to God, run with God, and to say to all, “go, go, go!” Go deeper into His grace. Start now. No matter where you are; there is more.
