GO PUBLIC

Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. (Matthew 10:32 NLT)

“Now is the time, make up your mind. Give your life to the Lord.” These words came up out of me at the piano 40 years ago. To be honest, I had no idea what they meant. Oh, on the surface these words are obvious, but the depth of them, I am still learning.

There are things that I still need to give to Him to make it complete surrender. I don’t know what all of them are, but He is faithful to open the eyes of my heart in His grooming process.

We all have a grooming process taking place in our lives. He is working to draw people who do yet know Him. He is working to increase the faith of those who are getting started as well as those who have followed Him for years.

Again, the question that God asked Adam comes up; (Where are you?) Have you given your life to the Lord? How does that question make you feel? Do you think that is private? Are you working on it?

It is not difficult. Remember, I am not asking are you perfect. Do you desire to live Godly? Do you desire to see others come closer to God? Do you speak to others about Him? Are you quick to praise Him and defend Him? Do others know just how important He is to you?

He has done so much for us, and still we hesitate. It is a simple thing to do. We just need to do it. What do you know today people will ask? I know God is good. I know I need the Lord. I know He knows everything about everything, that is why He tells us we should pray. We could say these things. We want to say things, don’t we? How often do you respond about the weather instead?

We have both little and big things that we hold on to. Each time we do, we have a reminder from the Lord telling us to make up our minds. Will we give new ground to the Lord? It is in Him that we live and move and have our being. He gives us life. He wants to point us out to the Father.

I want Him to be able to say to the Father that Roger is still pressing. I want Him to be able to say that Roger may be a little slow, but He loves us. I also want Him to be able to say well done, on occasion. I want Him to know that He is my life.

Of course, you might think that is what a pastor is supposed to do! A pastor is also supposed to challenge others to do the same thing! The Lord said in Isaiah, “You are my witnesses!” We are His pictures to the World. We are His voice to the world. And Jesus tells us to go public! That seems to indicate that we are required to lift up the name of Jesus.

It is not a painful experience. It is a liberating experience. It is a feel-good moment that can and will become a habit. It is time. Tell someone just how much you love and need and depend on Jesus. You may just change someone’s life and change yours at the same time. God bless.
