GOD IS NOT THE PROBLEM
I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (2 Timothy 1:12b NKJV)
It is of utmost importance that we establish above all things that God is not the problem. He is able to keep everything we commit to Him. He is able to do abundantly above and beyond all that we could hope or ask. While there are a lot of things that we wonder about, we can be sure that there is a day coming when every thing we ever wondered about will be made clear. Until that day, we are called to keep committing things to God.
We trust in a lot of other things, why can’t we just trust God? We don’t stop every mile or ten miles or even one hundred miles that we drive to look under the hood of our vehicle and make sure the engine is there. We don’t call the bank every day to find out if they have our money on hand. We don’t get up in the night and call the utility company to make sure that we will have electricity when we get up. We don’t run the water to make sure the hot water heater is working. Granted, there are times when we may not have hot water, electricity, or that our car does not run, and there are certainly times when we check our bank account balance, but still we pretty much just trust these things to be there unless something proves otherwise.
If the bank calls and says there is no money or the utility company says there is no power or if the water heater breaks down, then we have something that needs fixing, otherwise we don’t worry about it. If we trust all of these things, why can’t we go ahead and trust God. Why do people have the tendency to think that God is the problem rather than the provider?
Paul spoke to Timothy of his chains and of certain suffering, but assured him that God was able to take care of everything he had committed to Him. Paul said to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. He said to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of all the things that he was called to. We are all called to the promises of God.
So God is not the problem. He keeps everything we commit to Him. Some of those things He keeps until that day that we trust Him for them. Yes sometimes we commit things to God in word only, while our hearts and minds are not so sure. But on that day that we break through, there it is waiting for us.
That is why we are getting involved in standing up straight on our faith feet. Declare now and hold fast to it forever that God is never the problem. He is always faithful. We can trust Him to keep what we commit to Him. There is no need to check to see if He hears us or does His part. He has promised that when we call He comes. When we seek Him we find Him and when we draw near He is right there. Today is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
