GOD IS OUR FUTURE
We must hold on to the hope we have, never hesitating to tell people about it. We can trust God to do what He promised. (Hebrews 10:23 ERV)
Pure and simple; God is our future. This is what we must be certain of as Christians. For so many years we have heard people say that our youth are our future. The truth is that generations before us gave us a future because God was esteemed as God in our nation. Our youth are important, but if they do not see God as our future then we will just keep going in a wrong direction.
Think about it. We have advanced so much in technology, in medicine, and in science and yet people are frantic over what is happening. It seems our technology cannot solve our problems. We have all the medicine and medical advances and we are sicker than ever. Science has gone deep enough into space to prove that this world has to have a designer and that life begins at conception and yet people do not want to accept that.
There is really no need to go any further pointing out how far we have come without really getting anywhere. There have been problems since man sinned and there will be problems until God wraps up everything as we now know it. Whether people believe it or not, the truth is the truth and the truth is the only thing that can make people free. The truth is the only thing that can solve all problems. Jesus is the truth. He shows the way. He alone gives us life! He said the world would be full of problems but we can rejoice because he has overcome them all. Will we believe Him and do what He says?
Many times in the book of Hebrews God points this out. He speaks of today being a big day, because it is a day when we can receive the truth. The truth is that every day offers us an opportunity to grow in the truth. When He tells us to hold on to hope and never hesitate to tell people about it, He is not telling to tell people about Him. He is telling us to tell people about the hope we have in Him and that He can do what He promised.
I know many people who will talk about God when it is convenient, but it is obvious that they are putting no trust or hope in Him. They do not know Him but they want Him to do something about things without believing that He really will. It is a fact that Biblical principles work with or without a relationship with God. What amazes me is that people would not want to know the God of the principles. At the same time, I know Christians, people who have received Christ, who read their bibles and pray, and still do not trust God to do what He has promised. God help me not to doubt!
It is up to us what we will do. Paul said that nothing mattered but to know God. If we who know in part will press to know Him more and experience His promises and then tell of them and declare that God is our future; it will make a difference. Pray. Vote for Godly principles. Believe and receive and tell people why you hope in God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is our future. He is our only hope!
