GOD IS WHERE YOU ARE

Then God said to Noah, "Leave the boat, all of you." (Genesis 8:15 NLT)

God did not forget about Noah. It may have seemed like it to Noah and his family as they rode out the storm, but when they landed, there He was. God is where you are. No matter where you are, He is there. He is not affected by what you believe or if you believe; you better believe He is where you are.
I am certain that everyone who has come to know God has also realized that He was all around and they just never noticed. I never thought about God being in Highmore until I came to know Him. There were other people around who knew it, I just never noticed. I never noticed Him anywhere, because I guess I did not care if He was or if he wasn’t. He was not real to me.
We know that Noah had favor with God and that God rescued his family because of it. On that boat, they all had an opportunity to either grow in desire for God or get mad at God. I would imagine that by the time that boat settled on land that there were some where is God moments. That is another thing. How amazing is it that God settled that huge boat full of animals in a spot that was stable enough that they did not roll down the mountain? Yes, God was where they were!
So, what about our lives? Have you wondered where God is? Have you even cared? Have you discovered that He is everywhere? Do you look for Him? Do you expect His favor? Do you trust Him?
Have you ever noticed that sometimes we spend more time questioning God that we do believing God? I have often said that I am too lazy to spend time trying to figure out what is going on. Figuring things out just leads us down too many rabbit holes, if you know what I mean. It really is a lot easier to simply trust God. Believe me, I do not do it perfectly but I press for that.
Imagine, all that time floating, and then God drops open the door to the ark and says, “Everybody out!” At the same time He fills them in on what their job is and adds the assurance that He is not going to do that to them again. He gives them the rainbow as a sign that they can trust. That really was pretty significant at the time if you think about it. Imagine the fear they could have every time it rained if they did not have that promise.
Well we have a lot of promises, and still we become fearful when certain things come up. When that happens, remember that God is where you are. Remember that God is for you. Remember that He would never leave or forsake you.
These are all what some would call elementary ideas, but the truth is, we all act like we are preschool from time to time. God is where you are! He never forgets you. Hold fast to His promises. Shout out your faith not your fear. God is near. God is here. No more fear!
