GOD KNOWS WHERE
Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters--a pathway no one knew was there. (Psalm 77:19 NLT)
It is true that God can make a way when it seems there is no way. He works in ways that we cannot see with our natural eyes, but if we will see by faith and allow our spiritual eyes to shine light on our souls, we will find that the big waters are not really so big. We will find that when we thought for sure we were going to drown, God was just getting the ground good and dry for us to pass on over to victory.
The author of book of Hebrews makes reference to this same event in Israel’s history. In fact, often in the Word of God the people are reminded of this and many other great miracles. It is good to remember and meditate on all those great miracles in the Bible and see how they can be applied to our circumstances. It is also very good for us to go over our own walk with God and note the times in our lives when God kept us from going under and carried us over.
We all have things that have taken place in our lives that only God could have done. Sometimes we just fail to recognize them as being as great as they were. Consequently, we miss the opportunity to have our faith built up because we fail to see that it was God. The good news is that it is not too late to take a look and enjoy all that the Lord has done for you and thank Him for it. Thanksgiving helps to build our faith and trust in God.
God intends for us to use every example of His faithfulness to improve our spiritual vision. That is why testimonies are so encouraging. When we hear people testify of God’s faithfulness, it helps us to believe that we too can overcome in what seem like impossible situations.
Remember, God knows where the path is. We must also remember that it is the devils goal to keep us from seeing that path. We need recognize when he is trying to block out the light and remind him that even if we can’t see the dry path ahead, we know that God is faithful and that at just the right time God will reveal it to us.
As Israel stood by the sea, the devil did his best to make them see only what looked impossible. Somehow most of them forgot the miracle of coming out of Egypt in the first place. They forgot the darkness that held the army back. They forgot the flame that led them. Many even wanted to turn back, but God told Moses to “Be still and know that He was God.” Then God revealed His glory and parted the waters. Just as miraculously, He closed the waters back up on the enemy and they all perished.
So, what seems impossible to you? Let the light of God’s promises shine on that dark spot and declare with confidence that God knows where the path is and He can handle it.
