Which do you think comes first, the favor or the witness? Was their witness powerful because of God’s great favor or did God favor them for their great witness? If we believe God, we would have to say that God’s great favor was what enabled them to be a great witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ! If this were not true, then we would have to believe that it is necessary for us to earn God’s favor.

God’s favor comes as part of the package when we believe in and on the name of the Lord. Their powerful witness to the resurrection of Jesus was not just someone standing up and preaching that Jesus rose from the dead. Witnessing is not just telling people that Jesus died for their sins and they will go to hell if they don’t accept salvation. Witnessing is “Good News.” Powerful witnessing is a result of God confirming the message.

The good news is that there is salvation in no other name. The good news is that with salvation comes healing, deliverance, protection, provision and every other good thing. The good news is that you can expect God to keep His word. In fact if you don’t expect Him to keep His Word you are missing the message and the purpose of the resurrection. Remember, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is now working in you.

Have you ever noticed that Jesus seemed to jump around in His messages? He would teach on one thing for a bit and all of sudden He was off on another topic. Then someone would get healed, delivered, or raised from the dead and the crowd would get so big he would have to get away. Jesus was so full of God and full of the good news of the kingdom of God that He was not concerned about making natural sense! He was interested in meeting people’s needs. He spoke to their hearts and those who had ears to hear received from God.

The great witness to His resurrection is that He is still doing what He did while He was on the earth. The great witness is that what Jesus said would happen is happening! Do you believe this? Do you expect the great favor of God to fill up your life? Do you expect God to powerfully witness through you?

Sadly, many Christians don’t see things this way. Some believe that God can still do stuff, but we should not expect it. Others think He might use a few people but not many. A few people are beginning to think that God is the same yesterday today and forever. A few are expecting Him to confirm His word. A few are determined to walk in the great favor of God. How about you? Are you ready for God’s great favor? He is more than ready to do His part. If you can believe, all things are possible!
