GOD'S MESSAGE

"This is the meaning of the story: The seed is God's message." (Luke 8:11 NLT)

The greatest seed God ever planted was His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. God planted Jesus as the first fruit. His intention was that Jesus would lead many sons to glory. In other words, God planted the perfect seed and planned on a bumper crop.

Jesus was weed resistant, pest resistant, and every other thing necessary to produce the perfect crop. He was sent to reveal the good news of the Kingdom of God. The plan was to plant the seeds of this kingdom and watch them grow.

The message is always good. There are no seeds that will not germinate. The only variable in the plan is the ground that receives the seed. We are that ground. What are we doing with God’s message?

Are we just leaving it lay. Are we setting it aside intending to put it to work someday, but then the day comes and we can’t seem to find it.

Are we excited as God gives us new insight, but just to busy to really allow it priority in our lives? Or, are there other things that are just too important to trust God to handle. After all, He is really pretty busy helping others, and we don’t need to bother Him. For whatever reason, most of us who have the perfect seed and all the best equipment, are failing to experience the harvest that the Good News of God’s Kingdom represents.

I believe it is because we see it as words and not as seeds that God is sowing into our lives. Seeds are intended to be planted and grow and produce a harvest. When God’s seed takes root in our life and we begin to sow those seeds expecting a harvest from the seeds sown it is a life changing experience.

Do you see the difference between words and seeds? If we see it as words only, then we expect it to only produce more words. When we see it as seed, we know that seeds produce fruit. When we see that we can speak of things that are not and believe that they can become what we say, suddenly the Word comes alive. After all, in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and Word was God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

So the Word is a seed and the seed is God’s message. God spoke the world into existence and He is speaking into our lives in the same way. Allow His message to get down deep into your heart. Water it until it germinates in the inside then transplant it and watch it grow. In the process, your faith and confidence in the message will grow to such an extent that nothing can move you off the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

The angels announced him as Good News of great joy for everyone. Start by believing that until you feel the joy and then –˜grow’ on from there.
