GRACE IN YOUR PLACE
The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him. (Ephesians 1:14)
Years ago, I penned the words, “Temptation’s all around you…this world’s an evil place. But He gives us strength to make it through; His loving gift called grace…” This week has been a health battle for my voice. As I hacked and coughed in the night, I was praying for me and anyone else with any physical attack anywhere in the world. That is what we all do isn’t it? We fight the good fight of faith! In the midst of the process I mentioned that my need was a bit petty compared to so many around the world, like those being martyred and etc. As I prayed that, God said that each one has grace for their place. In other words, God can handle it!
I was reminded that the folks going through such trials are often praying for us because they cannot imagine the temptations we must go through here in the land of ease. Yes, God has arranged that His grace is sufficient everywhere.
Right where you are; God is. Your need, He knows. He cares. Your issues are neither too large nor too small for Him. So I can pray confidently for my need because God cares about my need and I can be confident that He can supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory.
When Paul had his thorn issue, God told him that His grace was sufficient for his need. He said, “My grace is sufficient for you.” We are all you! His grace was not just sufficient for Paul; He has a load for you and me as well.
Where ever you are, God is. Unless you are supposed to be somewhere else, you are right where God wants you and He has what you need for what you are and where you are.
We do not need to think we are doing too little, nor should we think we are carrying the whole load. Remember, God is the load bearer. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
We all need the grace we need for where we are. We need to be confident that God is ok with where we are. Sometimes people have the idea that they need to do something greater and they wear themselves out doing something God never wanted them to do.
If we can love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we have done what He wants most. That song I mentioned earlier went on to say…”so remember that He’s there for you no matter what you’ve done. Your sins were taken to the cross by Jesus Christ His son.”
It stands to reason that with the price He paid to save us, He is not going scrimp when it comes to keeping us. He is not going to give us barely enough to get by on. We have grace abounding not grace running empty. Right in your place is more than enough grace.
