GRACE UPON YOUR LIPS

You are fairer than the sons of men. Grace is poured upon Your lips. Therefore God has blessed You forever. (Psalm 45:2 NKJ)

Oh Lord, pour grace upon my lips! Have you ever desired better control over what comes out of your mouth? How important is it to speak the things that God says? How much would we benefit from speaking about what God has promised rather than what we see, feel, or fear?

I believe that it is God’s plan to bless us forever. That is what He did for Jesus, and that is what He has promised us. Scripture says that the power of life and death are in the tongue. What comes off of our tongue is ultimately controlled by our lips. We can open them wide and pour grace and peace and close them when other things try and escape, or we can let just anything fly!

Having considered this, let’s see what could come from lips that pour out special favor and blessing. We know that everything in life involves sowing and reaping. In other words, we will harvest what we sow.

One thing that came to me as I considered this was pouring out words that empower and encourage others. Far too often we do just the opposite of that. With grace on our lips we would be continually producing good things for those around us and as a result, we would reap what we sow.

Don’t you just love it when someone encourages you? Of course you do; we all do. It is a blessing when God pours grace through someone else’s lips, so it only makes sense that it will be even more of a blessing when we are a vessel God uses to pour it out on others.

The grace of God empowers, encourages, enlightens, and elevates above and beyond what we can hope or imagine. At the same time it deflates and defeats the powers of darkness because they cannot stand in the light of His glory and grace!

Grace on our lips will cause us to be blessed and God really does want us blessed. Can you receive that? God wants to bless you! Say it out loud. God wants to bless me! God wants to make me a blessing! I need to be blessed in order to bless others! We need to speak grace over ourselves as well as over others. Sometimes that is a hard thing to do. I encourage you to practice it until is feels good and sounds right! Now go out with grace upon your lips and expect to be blessed forever.
