GREAT DISCOVERIES
Then with deep longing you will seek Me and require Me as a vital necessity and you will find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 AMP)
The more we know God, the more we need God, and the more we discover that there are things to discover. There are parts that we need to find. If you have ever assembled anything that needs some assembly, you have learned that you need to take inventory of the provided parts. Sometimes they are not all there. On a rare occasion they will give you a few extra parts. We can be certain that God has provided us everything we will ever need and a little extra that we will find out later. God has done His part the rest is up to us. He assures us that when we seek Him we will find Him. When we look to Him we will find that He is faithful.
Knowing this, gives me comfort when I discover that something I thought I had turns up missing! Recently I discovered that I needed to increase my compassion. In acts, Peter declares that God has provided no alternative for salvation. (Acts 4:11-12) There is no other name by which anyone can be saved. Salvation is the most important thing in life. We are born geared for and steered toward salvation. Deep in our hearts we all want salvation. That is why the devil is so determined to keep everyone he can from it.
So I was reading about how Jesus was despised and rejected and I realized in a new way that even though I want all people to come to that knowledge of salvation, my compassion level for some was not high enough.
I believe we are seeing in current times large crowds yelling, “Crucify Him”! Jesus is saying they do not know what they are doing. Jesus wept over the city. I am not much of a weeper, but I do know when I have been enlightened. Only in Christ will I find what I need to assemble the compassion necessary. I do not have it completely assembled, but I do know it is taking shape. My response to different things confirms it.
Understand, that compassion for the lost does not mean we lose our passion for the things of God. Jesus wept for the people, asked God to forgive them, and forgave the man on the cross, but He still said it is finished and yielded His Spirit to His father. The result was darkness and shaking.
We still stand for what is right. We still speak the truth. We still reject darkness. We don’t just sit back with our mouths shut. We are called to stand and the power to stand is found in the same place the compassion to care is found. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other name. He is the name above all names. His name will always get a hateful reaction from the devil so don’t be surprised; just keep seeking, standing, and praying and He will show us the way. There is still more to Jesus!
