HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
And the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” (Luke 3:22)
Jesus makes me Happy. I woke up in the night, and that was my thought. Lots of things can cause us lots of emotions, Jesus has that happy effect. God spoke and said that Jesus brought Him great joy. If we will allow Him to, He will do the same for us.
Just imagine God speaking of you and saying, “You bring me great joy!” Can you imagine that you bring Him joy? You should. When you call Him, He is happy. You may not be happy when everyone calls you, but He is filled with joy.
You may sing the chorus, “Jesus Just the mention of your name.” It speaks of just a few wonderful things that His name produces. The key is to enter in, to the promise.
Step in, to the joy of the Lord. Just speaking the name of Jesus produces peace. Imagine a vending machine that you put your money in and what you select drops into the tray. It is right there waiting for you to pick it up. When you say Jesus, all of goodness appears. We just need to take it.
As always, when I am awake in the night, I really wanted to go to sleep. But the thought of the name of Jesus, kept me thinking of all that we have in His name.
Then I thought of what God said about Jesus and I imagined God saying that about you and me. I know it is a stretch to think that God gets great joy out of us, but why is that? We only see our ‘why nots’, but He sees our potential.
We need only to understand that He means what He says. Keep seeking. When we keep seeking, we make Him happy. He said return to me. When we do, we give Him joy. The same goes for asking and knocking.
When we thank Him or praise Him, we are saying we believe He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Does the thought of any of this make you happy? Does hearing God say you bring me great joy make you smile, chuckle, or just laugh out loud?
Just pause, and say, “Jesus”.
Can you feel the peace? It is a happy peace. He is always present. Yes, He is. We do have to convince Him to come, we simply need to recognize Him. Thank you for being here right now Lord. You make me happy. You give me great joy.
