HAVE YOU CONSIDERED
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 14:1a NKJ)
Do you ever say, “There is no God?” We would never say such a thing, but we may in fact imply it at times! Even though He dwells in us richly, our words and actions can certainly convey our doubt as to God’s concern for our situation. If we think He is not concerned, we really doubt that He exists or at the very least that He is a liar!
Here is another thing to consider. What kind of power does the devil have? It is a fool who thinks that he has none. Of course, with Christ in us, he is powerless against us, but still, he has power. How did he get Jesus up onto the pinnacle of the temple? How did he get him to the top of that mountain? Was it a hunger induced vision or was it real? I believe it was real! How did Jesus get down? We know the answer to the last one for sure; angels came and ministered to Him.
What was Satan up to when he kept saying, “If you are the Son of God?” Wasn’t he trying to get Jesus to doubt who He was and the promises of God? Isn’t that what he tries to do to us? After all, the only way he can have power over us is if he can get us to doubt. If he could have convinced Jesus to doubt perhaps he could have pushed him off the temple himself. You better believe that the devil is working to get you and me to a place where he can push us off, but he can’t as long as we know and trust God.
So, a fool says there is no God. It is also foolish to think that the devil has no power. There is no way that people created in the image of God could possibly sink so deep without yielding to the devils influence. That is why we wrestle against the devils power in order to advance the Kingdom of God.
Here is another thought. Did the people limit the healing power of Jesus when they asked that everyone who touched his garment be healed? (Matthew 14:36) There are people who would refuse to reach out and touch Him and others who could not. There were other times that they simply brought the sick and He healed them all. Can we limit God with the way we ask?
God looks down to see if there are any who understand and seek God. I am confident that I understand a little. I know that I seek God, but I am not certain that anyone can seek Him enough. I know that we could never seek Him too much. It is sad to think that some people intentionally do not call on the Lord and deny His very existence.
Well, when the Lord comes He will square everything away. When He comes into our circumstances things change. We can be confident that “when” is on the way the moment we pray. It is not if He is God, or if He is coming, or if He cares, because He is God and He does care. Only a fool would say other wise!
