HE LOVES ME

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. (Romans 5:5 NLT)

This week, God arrested with the thought of His love. I made a note to God saying, “Have I considered your love?” He is, after all, the best one to ask. I mean, I am glad to be forgiven. I know God so loved the world that He gave His Son. I believe I know He loves me, I just wondered if I had really considered it. Have you?
Do we realize how real and caring He feels toward us? Do we see it as a love that wants to bless and keep us? Do we see it as a love that dotes on us as one does on a new born baby and can do it forever with no reservations what so ever? Do we see Him as one who loves us and is always there for me no matter what? Do we realize that His is a love goes out of His way for us just because He loves that way?
To be honest, I don’t think my heart has imagined this way before. I believe I have only known in part and have been missing the best part. No doubt many of you are ahead of me on this, but if not, take the time to consider His love beyond the surface of love and go deep into the eye has not seen nor the ear heard or the heart of man understood type of love. Then we can sing of His love forever; everywhere we go!
If we are going go on the offense with God’s love, we need to have the foundation of it built on the way God loves. As scripture says, it is not that we love God, but that He loves us. We did not choose Him, He chose us. He appointed and anointed and put the power in us. Oh how He loves you and me. Think about His love for you beyond the surface. Go ahead and imagine Him imagining ways to build your trust in him.
We had a stray cat in the neighborhood until my bride started feeding him and now he is always looking for food. Only he was a she and now Morris and kittens are here for food. They are basically wild so they do not trust us much but more and more they are learning that we mean them no harm. I was thinking about this and it occurred to me that we come to God a bit like strays and wild if you will. We want what He has, but we don’t really trust Him nor do we have any idea just what love he has for us. We stand at a distance you might say. I forgot to mention that Morris, for some reason, swats at Vikki when she feeds her. We may be guilty sometimes of swatting at God to make sure He keeps His distance. This is only because we have not really considered just what kind of love He is capable of.
We need to get this deep down in us. It will make a difference in how we present God to the world, and how we enjoy God in the world. It will change lives starting with our own. He loves you!
