HE MAKES ALL THINGS POSSIBLE
And because you are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" (Galatians 4:6 NKJ)
Are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit always on your mind? I came to the conclusion today that they are always near my mind, but not always on my mind! Thanks to the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, Who is always prepared to launch an awareness of the presence of God to the front of the line, we can be redirected; the rest is up to us!
Yes, God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts and He is always focused. He is always ready. When we learn of the important role that He plays and we agree with Him and submit to Him; suddenly we are calling out right along with Him. What a difference that makes in our lives.
Sadly, we often ignore Him. In fact He is not only neglected by many, His importance is actually minimized to the point of Him being declared no longer necessary in our advanced state of religious genius! We are often guilty of acknowledging Him in name only and fail to even announce Him as a distinguished guest!
The Bible tells us not to exalt ourselves by taking the best seat, but rather to stay in the back and let someone else ask us to the front. Well I believe that the Holy Spirit does just that. He sits where we put Him. I once had an experience where we were invited to a meeting and when we went in we happily went into the overflow room and were having a very nice time. Then someone came and wanted to move us to the main room so we reluctantly went with them. We did not desire a position, but they came looking for us in order to move us. I do not say that to sound all holy or important. I use it simply as a biblical picture.
In the same way, the Holy Spirit is present, but does not take any position that He is not invited to take. If we are wise, we go looking for Him and move Him to the front where He belongs. Once we do this, we should desire to partake of all that He offers. He inspires, empowers, and enables us as we join Him crying, “Abba Father.” He provides the miracles, the prayer language, and the fruit, and keeps the things of the Kingdom on our mind.
Our agreement with the Holy Spirit provides the catalyst for blast off into the great things that God desires for us. He drew us to Jesus and we agreed for salvation. As a result God sent Him into our hearts. When we agree with Him again, we in a sense enter orbit or another realm of glory where we can explore and advance the Kingdom of God.
Paul tells the folks later how important it is that they be zealous for good things all the time not just when he was around. When we wonder how we can possibly accomplish some of the things that God shows us, we can take comfort in know that the Holy Spirit was given for this very purpose. Think on these things.
