HEAR AND ACCEPT
"But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit..." (Mark 4:20 NKJV)
Can you believe it is December already? No doubt you have said this yourself or you have heard someone say it! The response to this is often something to the affect of it can’t be or it seems impossible. In the end, we are going to just have to accept it, because it is the truth. We can pretend it is not if we want, but that will not change the way it is.
Another thought we could consider is the due date on a bill. You better pay it or you will pay more later! In our town, there is always an advertisement in the paper reminding us that taxes are due. We can accept it and pay them, or we can refuse to accept it and then our names will be in the paper! If we just keep ignoring it long enough, there will be no more taxes because someone else will own the property!
The point I am trying to make here is that our acceptance or refusal to accept the truth does not change the truth. However, it does affect our lives and ultimately the lives of those around us.
We are now accelerating toward the celebration of the birth of Christ. That is what Christmas is. Now some people choose not to believe in Him or accept this truth, but it does not change the fact that the 25th of December is Christmas. It is not just another holiday. It is Christmas. I guess that is clear enough. I realize that you all know this, but it goes a long way to illustrate the importance of accepting the truth once we have heard it.
The Word of God is the seed of the Kingdom of God. Hearing the word is very important, but refusal to accept it produces an undesirable harvest. For instance, if we do not accept the truth concerning healing, we will harvest the full course of the sickness. The same would be true of protection, provision, wisdom, or any other promise of God.
The Word is guaranteed to produce kingdom results if only we will accept it. As I mentioned earlier, our acceptance or rejection of the truth not only affects us, but it affects those around us and future generations as well. If parents refuse to accept the word and teach their children not to believe or accept it as well, they will harvest rotten fruit until that cycle is broken.
We do ourselves a great favor when we make the decision to accept every Word of God as the truth that gives us life. Resolve in your heart to refuse any temptation to refuse the truth. Accept it quickly and anticipate the harvest at the same moment. The Word of God is a guaranteed seed. It produces! No conditions or circumstances can stop it. Accept it!
