INSIDE OF YOU

Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement he has brought us, the comfort of his love, our sharing in his Spirit, and the mercy and kindness he has shown us. (Philippians 2:1)

Oh the good news! What we have in Christ is also inside of us. Christ in us; our hope of glory! We not only are to enjoy these things, we have the privilege of manifesting them. It is not a command from God; rather it is an opportunity from God. It is intended to be a natural outflow of what God has put in us.

Think of the times you have said or done something and wished you had not. Think of the times you were plagued by anger and thoughts of getting even, or times you were sleepless because of guilt and could not push it aside. The more we manifest these things that God has put in us, the less have to deal with the other things.

When God said we would be like Him, He was not threatening and saying “You better be like me or else!” He was telling us that if we keep at it; if we keep pressing in and trusting Him; we will find ourselves acting and speaking just like Him. It was goal to achieve not an impossible mandate.

With this mind, we can declare our ability to love when hated, bless when cursed, pray when accused and victorious when it looks impossible. This is the rest we have been offered and promised.

God knows how to make things work together for our good. He does not give us tasks that are impossible. They may seem impossible to us, but nothing is impossible with God. We all know that these words are in the Bible, but do we know that they are in us?

Jesus told us that with us abiding in Him and His word abiding in us, the river would flow into and through our lives because we would know the truth and the truth would make us free to be in Christ and live as people who have Christ in us.

If we can believe this, we are approaching our goal of thinking the way Christ thought. He felt it was more important for people to see God than it was for Him to be God.

We have the resources dwelling in us that can reveal God to people! What things has God done in your life that you know it had to be Him? What things do you do now that you never did befor=- that reveal the handiwork and the presence of God in your life? Are you comfortable sharing with others the wonders of His love? Do you take the time to marvel at the transforming power of God in your life? Are you confident in His ability to work in the lives of others?

Think of what you have in Christ and what He has placed in you. You have a lot more going for you than you realize. Rejoice in the manifestation of these things. Get ready. Here they come!
