IT IS ALL TRUE
Everything I prophesied has come true...(Isaiah 42:9)
Everything that God spoke to Israel came true. Everything God has ever spoken has come true and everything that He says is yet to come, will come. He does not lie because He cannot lie. When He sent Moses to deliver Israel they had to trust what He said. They did not trust perfectly but still God did what He said he would do. In Isaiah God tells us all that He is going to send His chosen one, a perfect one who will be a light to the nations. That perfect one came in the person our Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus came, He did all that God said He would do.
While Jesus was here He went about doing all the great things that God said He would do. Just as God said that Jesus would be the Light, Jesus in turn said that we would be light. He said that just as the Father had sent Him, He was sending us. He also told us that He would send one to comfort and empower us. In answer to that promise the Holy Spirit has come and is busy doing the Fathers business in our lives and through our lives. It is all true. Everything that God said would happen has happened and it will continue this way for eternity.
I know that I am not telling anyone anything new here, but it is something that we need to remember and be encouraged by. About a month ago God told me I would need to trust Him more than I have ever trusted Him in my life. Then more recently He said help is on the way. So that has been my battle cry in every circumstance. I trust God because I know that help is on the way. Today he gave me a good example that has increased my faith in these words. He reminded me that when Moses went to deliver Israel He told them that they must trust God because help was on the way. Their deliverance would soon come.
Well, they watched as plagues came and went. They saw plenty of evidence to cause them to say they could use some different help. But Moses kept doing what God said. When problems arise, we can either watch the Lord take care of them and get stronger in our faith or we can remain focused on the problem and turn back from our faith. Many of the people chose to focus on the problem, but Moses chose to focus on the promise of God. Oh yes, we know that Moses did not do everything perfectly all the time, but God did. And just as He promised, Israel was delivered in style. Of course they were a motley crew to try and lead to the Promised Land, but God still took care of them.
Today I want to encourage you think about the promises of God and apply them to every circumstance that comes up both good and bad. When the good comes praise Him for the fulfillment of His promise of good plans. When the bad arises, praise Him for His promise of deliverance and victory. Every word of God is true and if we hold on to it, it will never fail. Don’t die in the wilderness. Claim the Promised Land.
