JOYFUL

Yes, joyful are those who live like this. Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord. (Ps 144:15)

As I read a number of the psalms today and then reflected on the Word of God, it occurred to me that God’s Word is a continual cycle of the revelation of God’s goodness and the availability of that goodness to everyone who will believe and receive it.

There is nothing that can come against His creation that is left out and it is clear that everything that rises against Him loses. Time after time He reminds us that no weapon formed against us can prosper. He continually points out that His plan for His man(and woman) was, is, and always will be good. It is a book of instruction on how to break through and thrive in any and all circumstances.

The Holy Spirit, through Paul, points out that we have been given every spiritual gift in heavenly places. We are assured that God can do what He says, and that we have been seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. He goes so far as to say that, “As He is, so are we in this world!” Wow! We have been made more than conquerors through Christ. There is nothing that God has not or cannot overcome. We truly have escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowler. Our help is in the name of the Lord. Truly, people who live like this are joyful.

You may at times hear people say that they would be happy if they had all the money or things that someone else has. Well just because someone has a lot of things does not mean they are happy. It does not mean they have joy. Joy in the Lord can add things to your life, but things alone cannot guarantee real joy.

Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord! The preceding verses of Psalm 144 paint a great picture of the kind of payer that God answers and the joy of living in the flow of God’s blessings of protection, provision, and overall peace.

The key is making God the Lord and remembering that He is Lord, He cares, and He can do all that He says. When troubles arise, remember Jesus is Lord. When you have a need, remember Jesus is Lord. When you feel sick, remember Jesus is Lord. In all things, remember Jesus is Lord and praise God at all times.

The moment you do this, you will feel the joy of Lord knocking at your door ready to break through the clouds. The rest is up to you. Will you through the door open and allow the Joy of the Lord to be your strength? Joyful are those who live like this. Yes, joyful are those whose God is the Lord.
