KNOW
"You are My witnesses," says the Lord, "and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me." (Isaiah 43:10 NKJV)
It is pretty amazing to me that God would allow us to know Him. In fact, it is His deep desire that we know Him, and He is willing to reveal Himself completely to anyone who desires to know Him.
We have all had experiences where we thought we knew someone and then all of sudden we wonder if we ever knew them all. People can be pretty inconsistent, but this is not the case with God. Every new thing we find as we get to know God only reveals just how consistent He is. He is God.
He is not satisfied to simply have people know about Him or even to acknowledge that He exists. He wants us to experience Him so that we know Him as the one true God. He desires that we be completely convinced that He is who He says that He is.
He wants us to know Him as father. He not just any father, He is the ultimate Father. He is the Father that dreams are made of. He is the Father that is beyond our imaginations and our desires. He is the Father that can!
To people who know Him even a little, this all makes sense. So if you are nodding your head and saying amen, you are in a good position to know Him more. You are probably hungry to know Him more and are even feeling a little excitement. It is also possible that you are being reminded that what you have been worrying about is something that you should have just handed over to God. Prayerfully you are feeling a sense of peace as the Holy Spirit bears witness that you do know Him and you will know Him more.
If on the other hand, if you are feeling like God has let you down or that things are not so good or you may even have doubts about Him, I pray that this will remind you that He is God and that you can know Him well enough to erase all those doubts and enter into His joy right now.
We must know Him, if we are going to trust Him. He is not hiding somewhere and refusing to reveal Himself. He chose us so that we could know Him. He is all powerful and willing to share. He desires that we know Him so well that we will be confident to come to Him expecting Him to even tell us secrets.
If we feel like we do not even know Him, it is not because He has changed; it is because we have allowed things to come between us and Him. Just remember nothing is too much for Him to overcome. Simply return to your quest to know Him more. He is the ultimate Father, He runs to us so we can know Him.
