God really does desire to show Himself to the world. He really does desire to make a difference in our lives. Sadly, it seems that even confessing Christians often are indifferent to how much difference God makes.

In 2 Chronicles we can read about how Rehoboam abandoned the Lord, and the Lord helped them to see that there was a difference in serving Him and serving earthly rulers. God does make a difference.

We need to know this. We need to show this. And we need to share this. We need this for us. God is good to those who depend on Him. We need to depend on Him. Do I depend on God? How do you answer this?

Can you tell a difference when you are not depending on God? We really need to pay attention. Our dependence can shift in an instant. Something starts to go wrong and bang, we bounce right out of dependence upon God into doubting Him. Other times indifference can just sneak its way into our lives.

We can find ourselves making people comfortable while making God uncomfortable. Recently a person was visiting with me and talking about god as we see him or her. I quickly responded that I am a bit stubborn concerning what God says and that He is God! Any other god is just a god. I don’t want a god; I want the God. He is the One I can depend on.

If we search for Him, we will always find Him. We search because we are confident that He is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do. If we don’t know this, we will never be content. We will call without confidence or an expectation of Him fulfilling His promises. We will flash signs of indifference. That is not what we want to show.

When we know God as the one true God, and we know that He cannot fail, that is what we will show. Oh, how people need to see this. Of course, faith will not always be welcomed, but it must be seen. If we profess to be followers of Christ, we need to reveal it in our lives, so that people can see that seeking and serving Him makes a difference.

We worship Him when we depend on Him. We worship Him when we show Him. We show Him by revealing His faithfulness. He never deserts us, so we don’t ever need to act like He does or has or ever will! Of course, we all have run into those kinds of bumps in the road. We have all run into places where it seems the road just disappeared completely.

Those places become great opportunities to share how God was even more faithful than we ever imagined. It is our privilege to know God. We can know Him till it shows. Ask a mother about her children and grandchildren and something will show, and something will be shared. Love flows! This is how we can know and show and share the difference God makes.
